Do you want to become an ambassador for AMS?

AMS Ambassadors are vital to fostering connections and support for adoptees globally. By representing AMS in your community, at conferences, and through online advocacy, ambassadors amplify adoptee voices and strengthen networks. Ideal candidates are adoptees passionate about creating meaningful change within the adoption community while driving awareness and inspiring dialogue beyond it.

    • Commit to a minimum three-month term.

    • Complete a one-hour training and onboarding session with the AMS team.

    • Dedicate 5–10 hours per month representing AMS in your community and at events or conferences.

    • Fundraise at least $500 by the end of the term, with a prize for the top fundraiser.

    • Participate in 30-minute monthly check-ins with the AMS team.

    • Raise awareness by posting regularly on Instagram and TikTok.

    • Write and submit at least one blog post for publication on the AMS website and community channels.

    • This is a volunteer role.

    • Access to one free Adoptee Lounge per month throughout cohort membership

    • Foster connections with and learn from an intimate cohort of other adoptees who are committed to spreading awareness. 

    • Opportunities to attend conferences/events

  • To be considered for the AMS Ambassador role, applicants must:

    • Be an adoptee aged 25 or older.

    • Have attended at least four Lounges and/or completed four 1:1 mentor sessions.

    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the AMS mission.

    • Possess excellent communication skills and confidence in discussing adoption topics in various settings.

    • Engage positively on social media and within the community.

    • Be self-motivated, with strong organizational skills.

    • Commit to mandatory training sessions, meetings, and other ambassador activities as needed.

  • Ambassadors pledge to:

    • Uphold and spread the mission and values of the Adoptee Mentoring Society.

    • Engage actively and positively on social media and in my community to raise awareness.

    • Attend all required training sessions and meetings.

    • Conduct all fundraising activities with ethics and integrity.

    • Maintain confidentiality and respect all AMS community members.

    • Adhere to Ethical Storytelling values

The Application Process

    1. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

    2. Once your application and reference form are submitted, our team will contact you within three business days to outline next steps.

    3. Selected applicants may be invited to a 60-minute Zoom interview.

    4. Final-round candidates may be required to complete a background check.
